Swag, Fierce or Slayage....Any Way You Say it Confidence is Key!

Have you ever seen a woman walk into a room, and for some reason you can’t take your eyes off of her? You’re not really sure if it’s her style, her makeup or maybe her hair... but something about her makes you want to get up, give her two snaps and a twist and a resounding “Yasssss, girl, yassss!”

If you’ve ever wondered what sets her apart from everyone else in the room, I’ve got you covered.

I’m going to give you the same advice that my mom gave me years ago. Advice that changed how I presented myself in every situation, and I can say without a doubt, that following my mom’s words have been the deciding factor in a ton of job interviews, in relationships and in being accepted as a “leader.”

Ready? Here is it…

“Walk into every room like you own it.”

Simple, isn’t it?

But watching my mom and seeing her energy told me that this was real. We could be anywhere, and people would watch her or want to talk to her. I can remember my friends being in awe of her. Hell, I was always in awe of her.

As I got older, I adopted the words and I grew confident. I walked into every space with confidence, and in doing so I changed not only how others saw me, more importantly, I changed how I viewed myself.

I stopped doubting whether I was “good enough,” for a job and started believing that I was the best candidate for the job. I stopped worrying what others thought of me, and started believing all of the great things about myself. And I can tell you without a doubt, that after every interview I have ever had, I was ultimately offered the position.

Sis, I am telling you - when you see yourself as a “boss,” you become a BOSS!

So, next time you walk into a space, walk into it like you own it. Hold your head high, put a little swag in your step and smile.
