Over the past 15 years, I have had a hell of a career, but it took the last few years to discover what I actually LOVE. A few years ago, I moved to Oahu, Hawaii. In Hawaii, I started a fitness group called Team Mudda’s (honestly, the purpose was just to get me out of the house). During the very first workout, I met my partner in crime Mandy, and within 2 years we were able to build a group that was dedicated to fitness, self-care, nutrition and wellness. Not only did we run daily workouts, we hosted fitness & social events, retreats, ran Spartan races and a bunch of 5 & 10k’s.
The fire that started with Mudda’s made me want to do more! After moving to Northern, VA, I made a major career change from Marketing & Development to Education (6th grade math for the win) and I became even more dedicated to supporting and empowering women.
Here’s the thing, in my head, I never fit the mold for “a fitness chick.” I doubted my strength, and even as a group leader worried that I wasn’t fast enough, fit enough or strong enough. I was always chasing “perfection,” and trying to do every aspect of my life the acceptable way.
What I learned, especially by watching my tribe support each other, is that the thought is complete BS. There’s no perfection in fitness, and there is no rule to what a woman should be, because we are so many things. So, if your idea of living a “perfect,” life is being unapologetically authentic, and doing you, then Honeydew U., was created for you!
So let me reintroduce myself.
My name is Lindsay...I’m an educator, a fitness lover, a wellness advocate, and a Momma. I am an empowerer of women. I’m unapologetically authentic and undefined and I really can’t wait to know you!
